• The current Company was incorporated in 1976 as an Ontario, Canada Corporation.
  • The head office of the Company is located at the brewery in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
  • The Company as a whole traces its’ origins back to the Port Arthur Beverage Company which began operations in Thunder Bay in 1876.
  • The current Company is an employee-owned operation with breweries in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Sudbury, Ontario.
  • The Sault Ste. Marie brewery has a capacity of 85,000 hectolitres (2,245,000 U.S. gallons) of beer annually.
  • The Sudbury brewery has a capacity of 130,000 hectolitres (3,434,000 U.S. gallons) of beer annually.
  • Currently the Sault Ste. Marie plant produces all the bottled beer and the Sudbury plant produces all the canned beer. The Sudbury plant also contains a bottling line, but it is only used for export bottling.
  • Both the Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury breweries produce their own draft beer.
  • The Company currently produces seven brands of beer:
    1. Northern Ale
    2. Superior Lager
    3. Northern Extra-Light
    4. Brew “55”
    5. Thunder Bay Lager
    6. Edelbrau Lager
    7. Red Maple Premium Lager
  • The Company’s current market area is Ontario only. It has not actively been involved in exporting any beer since 1996.
